Argentinean Artist Dolores Gonzalez Paints from the Soul

November 27th, 2011

Energetically impressionistic in her painting, Argentinian painter Dolores Gonzalez creates art that is boldly unafraid, seeking to portray the spirited dynamism of her everyday life and culture. The unadulterated feelings of her soul and spirit cascade throughout Gonzalez’s canvases, brightly articulating a jubilant hope in being alive. The artist sees every blank, white canvas as an expectantly encouraging opportunity to imbibe a two-dimensional surface with the fantastical whimsies of a joyful, ecstatic essence. Colors seemingly melt and collide in fiery, yet soft, curvilinear forms. Gonzalez sometimes mixes her palette directly on her canvas, a technique that enriches her work with a spontaneous, vivacious quality. “When I have the white canvas, I let my feelings flow and everything comes along,” she says. “I am inspired in my deepest emotions.”

Dolores Gonzalez left her corporate job to pursue her artistic passions and devote her time and attention to the creation of unforgettable works of art. She lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Ownapainting Expands Its Picasso Collection

August 10th, 2011

East Hanover, NJ (August 6, 2011) – Ownapainting.com, an online resource for 100% hand-painted oil reproductions, announces it has expanded the number of Picasso paintings on the site. To date, there are 58 available painting reproductions that feature the works of Pablo Picasso, the universally famous Spanish painter, draughtsman and sculptor. Among the most well known artists in the 20th century and a co-founder of the Cubist movement, Picasso is most renowned for masterpieces such as the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (1907) and Guernica (1937).

At Ownapainting.com, the most popular Picasso handiwork is a handpainted oil reproduction of the Three Musicians. The site describes the work as a portrayal of “three solemn or even majestic musicians in a bare and boxlike room. Two characters, the masked Pierrot (left) playing the clarinet, and the Harlequin (center), are stock characters typically used in old Italian comic theater. But in this work, and many others, the Harlequin also represents Picasso himself. At the right, a singing monk holds sheet music. An easily missed element can be found in the barely visible dog, sitting underneath the musician’s chairs. The intricate, jigsaw-puzzle-like composition sums up the Synthetic Cubist style, and the flat planes of unshaded color recalls the cut and paste paper origins with which the style began.”

The Picasso work of art is one of 400 custom paintings that Ownapainting.com can provide to customers. The site provides such reproductions through commissioned pieces that are individually hand painted and meticulously replicated by skilled and qualified artists who possess years of formal study and have been doing full time painting for a long time. The reproductions are typically done in effervescent, lush colors and lifelike texture that are achieved using high quality oil paints and the finest canvas.

Oil painting reproductions are original paintings replicated through hand painting. These are considered as affordable alternatives to original paintings that can cost millions of dollars to obtain. At Ownpainting.com, art aficionados from all over the globe can request paintings to be replicated, which the site’s artists then aim to complete and send to the client in approximately 4 to 8 weeks. The site likewise accepts framing services for custom paintings, though it advises customers to have the paintings framed locally to save expensive shipping charges.

Orders and inquires may be coursed through email at [email protected] To learn more about the oil paintings reproductions and to view the gallery, go to http://www.ownapainting.com/.

Wayne Croner Presents Kaleidoscopic Impressions at Agora Gallery

July 5th, 2011

For Immediate Release

NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature an Long Island artist, Wayne Croner, in A Maze of Milieu. The exhibition is scheduled to run from July 26, 2011 through August 16, 2011 (opening reception: Thursday, July 28, 2011).

About the Artist

As an artist who seeks to express the ineffable through a complex system of geometry, Wayne Croner’s work will dazzle your eyes while inspiring your soul. His stylistic approach varies between hard-edged kaleidoscopic forms and supple dream-like impressions. This is inspirational art, personal and expressive yet highly evolved on a framework of inner logic. “Sacred Geometry is my soul’s language and expressing that in a form which is my art,” Croner explains. The circle, an enduring divine shape and symbol of perfection, is heavily employed throughout his body of work. The shapes act as building blocks, repeating and overlapping to create new forms such as stars, arcs, and half-moons in the negative space. This is a plane that is alive and bursting with energy. Intricate linework and spirographs act as metaphors for the artist’s inner visions. Using oil pastels, color pencils and markers, Croner’s color pairings evoke particular moods, as icy hues recede and soothe us while crimson and canary pulse with vigor.

Wayne Croner lives and works on Long Island, New York.

Exhibition Dates: July 26, 2011 – August 16, 2011

Reception: Thursday, July 28, 2011, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Arts, Culture and Lifestyle Workshops in the heart of Italy

July 3rd, 2011

We started Il Chiostro in 1995 as a way to offer our artist friends an inspiring place to go to develop their creative ideas.  That first season novelists, painters, dancers, cooks, singers, designers and musicians all came together to be inspired by Italy – and each other.  We cooked and entertained and shared with them all of our stories about Italy.

Since then thousands of new “friends and family” have come to Italy with us seeking the same thing – a place to explore their creativity with others who share their interests.

Now we offer programs in Painting in Tuscany, Cabaret in Venice, Cooking, watercolor in Lake Garda, photography in Rome and Florence and plenty of personal development workshops at our new Tuscan Renaissance Center just outside of Siena.

We are both Italian-Americans with backgrounds in the arts.  For us, there are many beautiful places in the world, but Italy has it all:  food, wine, art, culture, history, music, fashion, language – and passion! We love to cook and entertain.  We like bringing people together.  We bring a diverse and dynamic staff with us each season as cooks, teachers, drivers and program managers to provide the most Italian-centric, inspirational week possible.

Wherever we go in Italy we like to make it our home.  We get to know the locals and set up house so that when guests come it’s like visiting friends or relatives in that place.  We are thankful every day to have the opportunity to live in Italy for half of every year, introducing others to what we know and love about it.  We hope you will join us – or come back – soon.

Robyn Hills’ Water and Light Abstractions at Agora Gallery

April 2nd, 2011

For Immediate Release

NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature an Australian artist, Robyn Hills, in Altered States of Reality: an Exhibition of Analog and Digital Fine Art Photography. The exhibition is scheduled to run from April 19, 2011 through May 10, 2011 (opening reception: Thursday, April 21, 2011).

About the Artist

Robyn Hills’ photographs present us with a unique look at the world, peering through abstractions caused by the interplay of light and water. An everyday vista is transformed into a memorable visual experience through Hills’ camera lens. Beads of water spotting a glass surface act like prisms, intensifying the color that lies beyond, while other atmospheric effects such as fog or steam create soothing impressionist scenes, blurring details and capturing the essence of a location. In this sense, Hills has a creative partner in water, which provides endless inspiration that is nonetheless fleeting. “Precisely formed droplets are there for mere moments before they blur, creating movement and asymmetry,” she explains. Her photographs display a flair for composition and color, finding unique tableaux in the most unlikely places, from the bottom of a drink to the floor of a pool.

This game of capturing the moment has been a lifelong affair for Robyn Hills; throughout her travels the camera has never left her side. She lives in Caloundra, Australia.

About the Exhibition:

Altered States of Reality: an Exhibition of Analog and Digital Fine Art Photography provides a glimpse of the world as captured through the lens of a camera, technology, and through the artists own inner vision. The gifted artist’s participating in Altered States of Reality offer us a perception of the world, as seen, through a complex, enigmatic fusion of emotions and technical mastery. The old boundaries have come tumbling down and the new reality has been altered and is forever changing. This exciting exhibition allows us to challenge our ideas, parables and perceptions that constitute our own reality.
