Sales Representative from Redrock Sales Raises Funds for USA Operation

July 1st, 2010

A sales representative from Redrock Sales Recruitment decided to raise funds for an operation in the USA for a young boy. After discovering the challenges that a young boy in his son’s class faced, Mark Hadfield made the decision to take action, to do something truly positive, and to help change the young boy’s life forever. The young boy Tolby suffers from cerebral palsy, a crippling disease, and the child needed to travel to the United States in order to receive an important operation that will improve the boy’s ability to walk on his own. In an effort to help Tolby and Tolby’s family acquire the monies needed for the operation, Mark Hadfield decided to perform a distance bike ride through various mountainous areas and to collect funds and donations for Tolby’s cause.

The first day of the adventure began at Llandudno North Wales Coast. Hadfield rode his bike alone through A470 onto Snowdonia Pass and finished his trip for the first day of his two day cycling event in LLandiloes. The first day, Hadfield conquered 87 miles of ground nonstop through extremely cold mountainous regions and he endured excessive heat during the daylight hours. The second day of Hadfield’s venture was no less arduous and was more of the same. On the second day, Hadfield managed to conquer another 85 miles of territory and rough terrain as he biked solo. Hadfield started out early in the morning on the second day, headed for Brecon Bacons National Park to Abergavenny and then onto the Chapstow Race Course. The two day trip resulted in more than 190 miles of territory being covered. The long scenic ride gave Hadfield plenty of spare quiet time to think.

A week after the venture, Hadfield was still physically paying the price for his bike ride, but it was all worth it.  Hadfield had warmed up before his cycling ventures but did not train extensively before taking on the trip.  The result was some painful remembrances of his journey. Hadfield was definitely happy to see the finish line by the time the journey was over. Yet, the bumps, bruises, and bodily aches and pains were nothing compared to little Tolby’s plight, and Hadfield’s venture help Tolby and his family raise the $36,000.00 the child needed for his life changing operation. Hadfield is sincerely grateful to all of the company employees and clients that donated to Tolby’s cause and that supported Hadfield during his bike run.

His cycling venture earned another £4500.00 for Tolby’s cause.  Ten weeks after the monies were collected, Tolby was scheduled to take the long planned for trip to America. Hadfield’s motivations and action are remarkable and should stand as an example of how just one person can be the source of significant, positive change.  Hadfield should be honored as a role model that everyone should aspire to emulate; when people take action and work toward a positive goal, dreams can definitely come true.
