ProductionBase enters next phase of growth

December 10th, 2008

London, December 10th 2008, ProductionBase, the industry’s online network for TV, film and commercial production, has today made two significant announcements which demonstrate the continued growth and success of the company.

Industry veteran Joe Mahoney will join ProductionBase as managing director, reporting to Geoff Curry who will continue to oversee the ProductionBase business as a director of the Jobsite Group. Joe will join the company immediately, and will be responsible for overall management and strategic direction of the business, which is based in Clerkenwell, London. Joe has extensive experience of working with major film and television production companies – including senior management roles at the BBC, and Channel 4.

Commenting on his appointment, Joe said: “I’m delighted to take up this position and to have the opportunity to build on the company’s significant successes to date. Despite the tough economic climate, the film, TV and commercial production industries continue to produce exciting and innovative work, and I have every confidence ProductionBase will continue to play a crucial role in finding the best freelance talent.”

This announcement coincides with the launch of the company’s brand new website – packed with new and improved features. The live launch of www.productionbase.co.uk follows a successful testing period, where the company called on industry professionals to provide feedback on, and input into, the new site. Comments from the industry were gathered during a month long trial period, one of the many positive responses included “the new site sounds great, the perfect marriage of online portfolio with networking and job opportunities.”

Today’s launch sees the company unveil ShowFolio, the industry’s most innovative new online tool to dynamically showcase video, audio or text credits. Members receive their own personal ProductionBase webpage, where they can store an online portfolio of their work – be that their video credits, showreels, audio credits or even scripts.

Advanced search and tagging tools make it easy for users to promote specific skills – greatly improving the chance of being found and seen by the right people. Furthermore, members can create customised playlists containing selected video clips relating to a specific job opportunity.

ProductionBase has been an industry force for over ten years, helping freelancers at all levels connect with employers and find their next role. Key to the success of the site is a fully interactive social network – the Watercooler – where members can interact and share experience and advice.
