Becoming Aware of the Signs of a Bad Boss

October 1st, 2009

Working with the global recession hanging over your head is bad enough. This is because it forever poses the threat of losing a job or working under pressure because of cost-cutting steps by the administration. When these worries are topped off with working for someone who has the makings of a bad boss, then your professional life may be headed for more problems. This is because bad bosses could present a negative impact to you and your work environment through cultivating stress, frustration, and resentment among employees. To know how to deal with a difficult boss, you must also be aware of the signs.

The first thing that you should not fail to notice about a bad boss is that he or she easily and most often find others to blame for mistakes. When plans do not get the desired results, this type of boss will quickly point a finger at just about anyone in the team, except himself or herself. This usually happens when the team’s performance is not at par with other teams that are faring quite well. Because they usually rule self-accountability out of the picture, these bad bosses will blame the team members or the inefficiency of the process or systems being used in the workplace. There are times when you would be at a quandary on how to deal with a difficult boss such as this because they also have no clear-cut goals for the team to follow. Usually, it is either they have no goals at all or the ones that they have are not easy to achieve thus resulting in their team performing badly.

Another thing that you could note about a bad boss is that he or she does not know how to communicate with the team. It is very hard to know how to deal with a difficult boss like this because they don’t feel the necessity to communicate with their team members about where the company stands or how they feel the team is really doing. Because they rarely show how they feel, it is also very hard to talk to them. When you have this kind of boss, then no one could be held liable for any problem that could arise within your workplace. This is very bad because bad practices can happen in the work environment without punishments meted, and excellent performance can also occur without getting the necessary accolades. This will result in a lot of compromise and a lot of frustrations about good work left unrewarded as well as resentments about incompetent team members going unpunished.

Other signs that you might see in a bad boss include not having the time to mentor others, thus appearing to have no plans at all for the improvement of the team. This kind of boss would also never delegate because they usually feel that there is no one among the team who could perform the job to the satisfaction of the management. As a result, the team that he is leading would always be stagnant and would seem like it does not have a leader at all. If you notice your boss showing more than one of the signs mentioned above, then you have to do something. What you can do is read up on materials on how to deal with a difficult boss and apply them as soon as you are able to do so. In this way, you may be able to prevent an impending disaster that is bound to happen to your team sooner or later.

If you are looking for some resources on how to handle a bad boss, you can do your research on the Internet. You will find all sorts of materials that will teach you how to deal with a difficult boss at reasonable prices.

Use the Six Sigma Green Belt Training to cut on your work flow and improve the quality

November 28th, 2008

Everyone who owns a business wants quick and good results from the employees, who become engaged in the task of achieving the set targets. In the bargain, many loopholes are overlooked and a lot of resources are improperly used. An analysis of the same needs to be done in order to cut the time of production, be it products or services, ultimately leading to increased customer satisfaction.

It is necessary for any business to hold the interest of the customers and provide them better products than their counterparts. This can be done by some reviewing of the basic processes involved during the time an order is placed, to the time the customer receives it. The most effective step to analyze the same is the Six Sigma Training, which is being used by more and more companies, worldwide. The Lean Six Sigma Training is a business management strategy to enhance the profitability and reduce the waste in any business, monetarily. This is more often referred to as a scientific process as it has been proven that it has reduced the defects by a huge margin.
The launch of the Six Sigma Training Online is a boon to all organisations, big or small, as it has a defined sequence of steps which are easy to understand and are cost effective. All you need is a little bit of your employees’ time from their daily routine. This will certainly help you remove certain unwanted procedures, which leads to wastage of capital and man power.

The DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control) tool used in the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training not only assures that there is cost reduction, but also takes care to see that it is followed. These five steps followed in the training programme filter all the procedures so that the fastest and the best remains in the end.
Mr. John Wood, the CEO of a big company, told us that his profits have increased tenfold after this training was imparted to the employees and their customer satisfactions has gone up like never before. The training certainly works for any kind of businesses and is very important for their success.
