It is so vital in the catering business today with so much competition that the catering equipment is good quality and ‘fit for purpose’ as the equipment is just as important as the food.
It makes no difference how big the business from a large hotel to a small bistro any chef or home cook will want the very best equipment as they see it as an extension of themselves and makes the cooking experience more enjoyable for them.
All catering companies need to ensure that a supplier of catering equipment is in fact stocking the highest quality products and give the best possible value. A catering equipment supplier is as important to a restaurant, hotel, bar, as the equipment itself, and the consumer needs to be confident that who they are dealing with has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help them every step of the way.
When looking for catering equipment for your new or established business make your mind up to look at what Ward’s catering has to offer. Ward’s catering has a long and experienced history in the supply of catering equipment and commercial refrigeration, and is well known by businesses around the UK.

Ward’s of York with their huge warehouse in Clifton Moor York, also a web site second to none, show off their vast range of catering equipment and refrigeration and can offer immediate delivery at the very best prices, they only stock recognized manufacturers products, because their aim is to ensure a quality service and peace of mind to all their customers.
If you are in the catering business let your fingers do the walking and at the click of a ‘mouse’ you can enter the world of Ward’s Catering, you will be spoilt for choice and amazed at how user friendly this web site is, with categories for bar, kitchen, beverage equipment, cooking equipment, hot food displays, refrigeration, and so much more to browse, but more importantly each category has very explicit information to impart to the user.

To get the perfect Corporate Event or come reasonably close to it you have to do business with the right people. But since no one can get enough “practice” at picking party caterers, how do you know the good ones when you see them?
- Testimonials and complaints are both equally revealing if you can read them right. When you read a testimonial, always do so with a checklist of items in mind. A review commenting on the excellent quality of food and cutlery, for instance, tells you nothing about the quality of service. Reading CAREFULLY can make all the difference.
- Try out the standard of their food during food tasting. This is a great opportunity to know the standard of a catering company. During food tasting, you should share with your caterer your likes and dislikes so that he or she will know what food to recommend to you. Do not be afraid to ask question. You are the customer, and you should ask anything that you have in doubt before booking.
- Presentation: Speak to the caterer’s chef and/or representative. How involved are they with their food? Do they help you plan the menu with love and devotion, or do they simply tell you they can do anything? Always look for caterers who understand menu planning, and can speak eloquently about dishes and their combinations. This is a good time to find out more about their plate presentation. Is dressing served on the side? And will the courses be delivered in succession or at once? These are some of the questions that you should ask your caterer before booking.
- Compare quotes: You do not know if you are being overcharged until you compare. Getting quotes from different places will help you get the best deal, as long as you choose from places with better similar quality. Also, find out which caterers offer the most services for a definite sum of money.
- Past experience: Most people tend to remember the best events they have ever attended. If you want to plan in the long term, ask caterers for their cards at these memorable events – you will probably avail of their services later on. Do share your honest opinion and feedback with your caterer. Caterers see tasting as an opportunity to improve the standard of their food and presentation. Therefore, be sure to share comments and questions and give them your honest feedback. This will help them to improve so that they can serve you better in the future.
- Be sure to find out whether the caterer charges for tasting. Some caterers do charge for tasting. So be sure to understand the charges and procedure before you arrange a food tasting session with your caterer.
- The proverbial grapevine: Last but not least, rely on the recommendations of processional friends. Even if you can’t remember the caterers who served up that lovely foie gras, your processional friends just might have saved up their business cards.
The caterer is largely responsible for an event’s success or failure. Many corporate catering deals come as part of a package that includes performances, perhaps hall bookings, flowers and decoration, power supply, equipment rentals and such services. For your event to be successful, ALL these services must be up to the mark. Alternatively, you could choose entertainers, florists and equipment suppliers individually – a task which is more time consuming, and may leave you spending more than you bargained for. While an experienced event planner will provide you the best in all these services, a package deal with a caterer can be a much more affordable way to have a memorable Corporate Event.

A wedding day
– the most important day of a girl’s life some might say. And after the dress and the venue and the honeymoon, well the food is pretty crucial too!
Whilst there are a thousand ways to do the food at a wedding – from fish and chip van to Indian buffet to sit down five course banquet – great food means happy guests, and an even more memorable day. So it’s important to get it absolutely right.
Paying a wedding caterer is the answer for many couples. And there are a huge number of companies specializing in wedding catering in the UK – companies who perhaps do corporate and private parties too, but who, overall, make wedding business their business.
Much of your decision making process about your wedding caterer should be dictated by the type of wedding you want. Are you looking for an urban city affair with a minimalist reception venue and a modern European menu? Or will it be a rustic day, with spring flowers in ribbon tied jam jars, hay bales to sit on and a hog roast by the barn? Perhaps you are thinking about a theme – do you have a seaside venue in mind, then serve local fish and seafood. Or lots of Caribbean family – how about a Caribbean style barbecue?
Wedding caterers can vary hugely in price and in product. Low key, casual and less formal weddings may benefit from smaller, more relaxed catering companies. But if budget is no issue, then the world is your oyster and you can find companies who will provide ice towers laden with the finest caviar and luges pouring the most superb vodka.
Choosing your wedding caterer is therefore crucial. Do your research – ask for recommendations, speak to other brides, or to the planning staff at your chosen venue (venues often provide a list of professionals they prefer to work with). Ask your photographer, florist and other wedding suppliers whether they can recommend a great caterer. Look for testimonials that might give you a steer on whether a wedding catering company really knows what they are doing. If a number of brides have recently written glowing letters of recommendation after their big days, then you can be pretty sure a caterer is able to do the same for you.
The lovely thing about paying a proper wedding caterer is that you can really relax on the big day, safe in the knowledge that a whole team with all the relevant skills and experience will be responsible for getting it right, so that you can concentrate on the vows, the speeches and first dance!
At the outset, it is very important to focus on the menu – and you can talk to your potential wedding caterers about this very early on. Get them to suggest ideas. Talk about what suits you as a couple, and get advice on what is right for the venue, the overall occasion and for your guests. If the produce is excellently sourced and excellently cooked, even sausages and mash can be perfect for a wedding meal. Ask your caterer about what is seasonal, and what they think of as their signature wedding dishes. If you want canapés before the meal, when people arrive and drink their first glass of icy champagne, then ask to see a canapé list – getting these right really makes an important first impression and is a great way of wowing your guests before they have even sat down!
Don’t forget your wedding cake – most wedding caterers will look after that too – ask to see photos of past cakes and you will soon get an idea for what you do or don’t want. Traditional white tiered fruitcake? Or gorgeous fun and frivolous cupcakes with your initials on?
Some of the larger wedding caterers such as “The Admirable Crichton” and “rhubarb” will also look after the decorative side of things for you. Lighting, linen, staff uniform, candles and table centerpieces can all fall under the remit of the wedding caterer, so make sure you get yours right!

Bearded dragons are not just pets; they are an exotic variety of pets. The Inland or Central Bearded Dragon is the one that is most popular. Bearded dragons are native to Australia and there a variety of species that are found there.
When upset, the bearded dragon, they inhale and puff themselves up and in the process also enlarge a pouch under their jaw which resembles a beard. This is how they get their name as bearded dragons. Although referred to as a dragon, this is in fact a hardy lizard with a mild temperament and a trusting nature. This is why they are very popular as pets even amongst children. Bearded dragons tend to have triangular heads and flattened bodies. The adult of the species grows up to approximately 16 – 22 inches. Their growth generally ranges from 3 to 6 inches from birth to the end of their first month (measurements being head to tail). For your beloved bearded dragon to gain weight steadily, you have to feed it a wholesome nutritious diet.
Bearded dragons are classified as omnivores i.e. they feed on both vegetation and insects. If you are queasy about handling bugs, then having a bearded dragon for a pet may not be for you! They eat crickets primarily and also some mealworms. It is also important for you to have greens available for them to feed on although baby bearded dragons do not consume as much greens as their adult counterparts. Crickets work as the main food for them. Mealworms should only be given in small quantities as they have a hard outer chitin, making it difficult for bearded dragons to digest them. If you over feed your bearded dragon mealworms, this could eventually result in impaction leading to death. You also need to be careful of the fact that the insects you choose to feed your baby bearded dragon should not be bigger than their mouth. If you feed a baby or young bearded dragon a large cricket that is larger than the bearded dragon’s mouth, this could potentially result in choking or a blockage and even digestive problems. Obviously as your baby bearded dragon grows, you can increase the size of the crickets and mealworms that you feed your pet.
If your baby Fruit Flies is receiving a nutritious diet and proper care, you could see it grow up to 8 or 9 inches at the end of two months. After this stage, up to approximately six months of age, you could see your pet grow at the rate of half an inch per week on an average.
As with all pets, bearded dragons also require that their diet is monitored as they grow from a baby to an adult. A baby bearded dragon will take 2 or 3 feedings of insects like crickets in a day. But let your pet guide you and never over feed it. As the baby bearded dragon grows, it will be capable of eating a few greens, but the diet will still constitute a maximum of crickets.

Traditional sponges and paper towels used for various cleaning purposes are now being replaced by spray and wipe disinfectants. They are found to be convenient and easy methods for killing germs present on various surfaces.
Wipe Disinfectants – A Convenient and Easy Means of Disinfection
Everyone who is busy with work at home or somewhere outside always looks for a convenient means of cleaning. Due to the increasing concerns about hygiene and convenience, people generally prefer wipe disinfectants to chemical disinfectants.
In the present commercial market, you can find various brands of pre-moistened wipes. These products, specially designed to kill germs, are effective against a number of microorganisms including human Hepatitis B virus. Certain brands guarantee 99.99% germ killing properties. They will not leave scratches or streaks when used on surfaces for disinfection and cleaning purposes.
Bring Fresh and Long Lasting Fragrance in Your Rooms with Disinfectant Sprays
Accumulation of dirt generates germs and results in creating bad smell in the surroundings. Pet hair, trapped food particles or smoke would be the reason for this. At times, even if the dirt is removed, the odor persists in the room. In such situations, you can apply spray disinfectants on the surfaces from where the smell originates. They neutralize the odor and leave a fresh and long lasting fragrance. These sprayers can not only bring sweet smell into your rooms but also kill germs and odor causing bacteria. Most of them can be used on hard and non porous surfaces.
Purchase Brand Name Products from Quality Dealers
Nice Pak, Dial, and Reckitt Benckiser are today’s popular brands of spray and wipe disinfectants. Many of the dealers even offer facilities for providing online quotes for the convenience of their customers. Just browse the internet to find the dealer who meets your requirements.

London – 14th December 2009 – “rhubarb” food design , In the last few weeks before Christmas, party season is in full swing. And of course it is the job of the UK’s top catering and event companies to make Christmas 2009 the most gorgeous yet.
At “rhubarb” food design, the ethos is very much ‘let the food speak for itself’, but whatever the chosen menu it has to look and feel celebratory.
Colour is crucial to our Christmas party food this season – rich red and green vegetables, superb silver serving vessels, gold flecked linens, and candy striped cupcakes and carousels. Gold and silver leaf is used to fabulous effect on desserts, garnishes and place settings (and it couldn’t be easier to use yourself either, just make a simple sugar and egg wash and apply the leaf with a pair of tweezers – instant decadence!).
Fresh deliveries of seasonal foliage are being made each day to our warehouses. Huge swags and swathes of evergreen, countless flickering candles, and bright coloured berries or beribboned mistletoe look and smell fantastic in any venue. And don’t think the colour scheme has to be restricted to traditional reds and greens either. Colour co-ordinating your Christmas table or venue is relatively easy and so much fun – how about white and hot pink, or black and purple?
Variety is crucial so our party catering strive to add colour & life to Christmas party table – varying sizes, shapes, presentation and texture makes the food function as decoration itself. Think how much more fabulous a towering stand of multiple mini desserts looks than one large dessert. Imagine mini mince pies and perfect fresh baked pastries dusted with fabulous edible glitter (at only £3 a pot its easy to use yourself at home too); or light as a feather cupcakes with different coloured icing; or crudités with different jewel coloured dips. All make real visual talking points and create a proper party feel for your guests.
And finally we try never to forget a present or two – your guests will love tiny gift-wrapped canapés, or individual Christmas petit four favours, or bespoke designed Christmas crackers. After all, who doesn’t love opening presents at Christmas? UK Catering enhances your party.

London – 14th December 2009 – The UK’s offices and businesses may be under immense pressure to lower their event costs in the current economic climate, but staff still want a Christmas party. So this year, luxury catering and event companies have had to be that bit more creative about how they deliver a Christmas event for a little bit less.
Many have designed their party menus around substantial canapés or ‘bowl foods’ rather than sit down dinners. That way everyone gets lots of delicious food to eat, and lots of seasonal variety, but the costs are kept down. Current Christmas bowl food favourites at “rhubarb” food design are sticky beef with parsnip mash or delicious lamb tagine with aromatic basmati rice.
Wonderfully rich and tasty (but cheaper) cuts of meat can be used in these kinds of dishes and are slow cooked to release fabulous flavour and succulent juices. Of course if main courses are compulsory, classic crowd pleasers like sausage and mash and fish and chips are cheap and easy to produce and if presented beautifully can easily provide that crucial party ‘wow factor’ too. Luxury party catering offers all the above said delicacies
Some companies have been looking into cheaper venues, or even in-office events, with a bit more time spent on creative decoration. Stunning flowers and candles, evergreen table decorations, swags of mistletoe and gorgeous twinkling lighting, can turn even the most uninspiring corporate boardroom into a winter wonderland!
Finally – companies are being that bit more creative with the bar bills this year. Prosecco rather than Champagne has been a big seller, and seasonal punches and cocktails such as brandy punch,
mulled wine or sea breezes (with Christmas cranberry juice of course) are proving popular.
Put simply, the event companies who can be creative with their offerings are the ones who, despite the economic downturn, stand to have one of the best Christmas party seasons yet! Choose best catering company for that.

There is the idea of making the list, and make the cake pudding for the filling of the butchery of the freezer.
There are many catering companies that include small gifts with their catering packages. So be confident that the caterers you are hiring provide best services. Do a little bit homework for that. Consult to the company about their services. And the most important thing is to be sure that there are not any hidden charges included with the actual price of catering services. When it comes to a wedding reception party then the most important thing that your guests remember is delicious food. Mostly the success of party is judged based on the kind of food eaten and the service established. Newly married couples always need to hire well with stare to the catering service they will use. For doing so they have to do a considerable amount of investigate and put in a lot of time and attempt in seeking out as much as they can on caterers through interviews, position checks and food variety. Couples have to put up various questions to the catering service provider to confirm their services.
There are various tricks to find these catering Services. For searching good catering company you have to do a little bit research on internet. If you search catering company for a particular region then Google search engine get 10 most popular search results for catering company to the associated area. There are also a lot of classified ads and business listing directories where a lot of sites are mentioned. You can easily make a database to do further research. You can also do research to your local area for catering services.
In my opinion you have to decide such a food catering company that can provide you delicious food with other party needs within your budget. To manage that the customers get the best potential service the different catering organizations will have capable employees who have been qualified well to work in tandem to make an accomplished and sanctified team. They are well dependent to develop the catering of any type of function that they have been hired for.
A good caterer is one that has ability to put on a stretch that outfits the needs of everyone. In your party there are various peoples who want sugar free or fat free food, less spicy, vegan etc. So your caterer has the best understanding for how to prepare food that can satisfy all types of your guests. Another major point for your wedding party arrangement is your budget. Hire the catering service before 4 to 5 days of your party. Instant caterer hire can raise your budget because some caterers might intentionally raise the price of their catering services when they recognize that you require their services immediately. Finally ask him to the final charges for their services. This is because some of the catering company includes hidden cost or taxes after the completion of your party. So it is extremely vital for you to check the real details of the pricing with any related taxes.
A wedding reception party is incomplete without wine or beer for many peoples. So you have to prearranged these materials. But it is extremely significant to be responsive of which wine can match the kind of meat that is being served for the food. It is best to remain the dessert light, with a few varieties. Since not everybody has a saccharine tooth, instead of attaching only ice cream, you can also provide fresh cream with fruit salad. This will definitely make your wedding party memorable among all of your guests.

If you are plain any event for your office, the best thing to do is plan early and chooses a caterer with a few ideas in hand. Although many caterers have ready-to-go menus, most of them will work with you to ensure the food at the conference is a success. The type of food and the amount of help you will depend on the amount of people at the conference and whether the food is needed for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Corporate Catering Menu Ideas
A catering menu depends largely on the type of event you are holding. Different catering menus are appropriate for different times of the day and should be adapted to the formality of the event. Here are some ideas for catering menus.
Catering Breakfast Ideas
Breakfast can be a number of stuff in more verities. A variety of cereals in attractive dispensers with fresh, cold milk should be a staple. Trays of fresh, seasonal fruit are always well received. Scones, rolls, biscuits and toast should be served with an array of jellies and jams to top them. You can serve yogurt with a variety of toppings such as granola and dried fruits.
Your Breakfast will appear beautifully arranged in wicker baskets and platters. We can deliver on-site for your expediency and arrange to have all materials picked up at the end of your event. Make certain plenty of servers are present to refill coffee mugs on the floor. A banquet spread of fruits, juices, bagels, toast, muffins, butters and jams is a popular idea for these types of conferences. It is unlikely that businesspeople will want full main courses early in the morning.
For your Company Breakfast you can select a good Menu like: -
- Cookies, muffins, coffee
- Muffins, Bagels/cream cheese, coffee
- Muffins, fresh fruit, juice
- Assorted baked goods, fresh fruit,
- Juices and Coffee
Catering Lunch ideas
Lunch will generally have a salad of some type, whether it is a standard salad. An array of deli meats and cheeses are always a hit at lunch time. You can again serve fresh fruits and cheeses, and a vegetable tray with some tasty dip is also a good idea. Desserts can include things like ice cream sundaes or small finger desserts. Make sure to include plenty of vegetable dishes for non-meat eaters, and have a variety of light chicken dishes as well. Pasta salads and a section for light cookies are also a good addition to a business lunch.
For your Company Lunch you can select a good Menu like: -
- Meat & cheese platter with ham, roast beef, turkey, American and Swiss cheeses.
- Assorted breads: onion kaiser, croissant and marble rye bread.
- Served with a relish tray consisting of sliced tomatoes, lettuce and pickle spears.
- Coleslaw and potato salad
- Assorted cookie tray
- Assorted sodas
- Salad: tomato and mozzarella, basil and balsamic drizzle
Catering Dinner ideas
Dinner can be as proper or formal as you like. If it is going to be a buffet style, go for a variety of meats. Hot side dishes should be served along with a salad of some sort. Think all the colors of the rainbow. Make sure your catering menu does not only include yellow or green foods. The more colors your guests see, the more appealing the catering menu will be. Desserts at dinner are usually a little more elaborate and can be varied to suit your tastes.
For your Company Dinner you can select a good Menu like: -
- Lemon greek salad
- Chicken breast dijon
- Confetti wild rice
- Broccoli with mushrooms and thyme
- Dinner roll and promise
- Rocky road brownie
- Beverage
- Cold buffets sold ala carte

Despite the economic downturn, “rhubarb” has managed to diversify business substantially over the last 18 months, venturing in to the retail sector by opening a food bar in Heathrow’s Terminal Three, and winning the contract to be official food operator at the new and much praised Saatchi Gallery restaurant/cafe and bar on the Kings Road – Gallery Mess.

The core event catering business outside the new retail side of “rhubarb” has also been substantially developed, with the addition of major new clients, fixed venues on the Silver Fleet on the Thames (“rhubarb” on the river) and at Royal Ascot (“rhubarb” at the races), stunning new menus, new party planning and business development teams, and a brand new website.

YOUNTVILLE, CA ( PRFriend) November 04, 2009 – Yountville’s 21st Annual Festival of Lights begins November 27th and runs through the entire month of December.
For most of the year, the tiny town of Yountville, CA is known for its fine dining, numerous wineries, upscale shopping, and spas. During the Christmas season though, this charming Napa Valley town becomes a breathtaking winter wonderland complete with twinkling white lights, horse-drawn carriage rides, and – of course – Santa Claus.
The free celebration begins the day after Thanksgiving. Santa Claus and his elves arrive at 2pm to kick off the daylong block party with events and activities for the entire family. While children visit with Santa and have photos made, Yountville’s local wineries and restaurants will entertain adults with samples of their world-famous wines and cuisines. Food and wine tasting tickets are just $1 each; call 707.944.0904 for ticket information.
At sundown, the famous “town lighting” event illuminates Yountville with the glow of thousands of white lights. The town’s many boutiques, galleries, and restaurants will stay open late to welcome revelers. The Festival of Lights continues through December with more special events and horse-drawn carriage rides offered every weekend.
In addition, Yountville visitors can sample the best of Napa Valley’s wine and culinary choices – most located within the town’s compact four square miles.
That small geographic area is full of surprises: it contains 20 wineries and even more restaurants. Local wineries include the Cosentino Winery, Goosecross Cellars, and Robert Sinskey Vineyards. The town’s dining options are just as diverse and exceptional. Yountville is home to one of country’s finest restaurants, The French Laundry and also offers fun culinary treats like “Brent’s Brittle” found at Ranch Markets.
Getting to Yountville is easy. It’s nestled in the heart of the Napa Valley, just 55 miles north of San Francisco, on Highway 29. The many lodging options range from the four-diamond Villiago Inn & Spa to romantic wine country bed and breakfasts to the luxurious (but family-friendly) Napa Valley Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Napa Valley in nearby American Canyon.
Yountville offers a charming respite for visitors looking to escape the pressures of urban life. The town draws visitors attracted to its unique mix of old and new: wine tours, fine dining, shopping, historic buildings and museums – and even hot air balloon rides. The annual Festival of Lights combines old-fashioned fun with the laid-back elegance of Napa Valley’s wine culture. Many visitors make it a cherished family tradition.

A Bristol-based chain of coffee houses has served up a surprise by being voted the best in the UK.
Coffee#1, which has 11 stores across Bristol and South Wales, claimed the top national prize at the Beverage Service Association’s (BSA) BEV-E awards – the industry equivalent of the Oscars.
Judges, who rated all entrants for quality of beverage served, customer service, cleanliness, layout and ambience, were impressed by the “very good experience” offered at Coffee#1, also complementing the “friendly, professional service and well-trained staff”.
Owner James Shapland, who gave up a successful career in the City to found Coffee#1 eight years ago, said: “This is a brilliant day not only for myself but for all our staff throughout Coffee#1 – especially our coffee trainer, Nancy, who has brought a fanatical devotion to ensuring our coffee is the best around.
“I’ve maintained from the very beginning that superb coffee in comfortable surroundings is the very essence of what Coffee#1 stands for, so to be recognised for both those things by such a prestigious prize is hugely satisfying.”
Coffee#1 will formally receive their prize at a ceremony at Manchester United Football Club in November.
Since opening in 2001, Coffee#1 has developed a passionate following for the quality of its fairly traded coffee and organic milk.
Shapland is a regular visitor to coffee plantations around the world, most recently Costa Rica and India. This ensures the company maintains a strong relationship with its growers and affords complete traceability.
