Sunset launches “Inside Out”, a digital book on pelvic floor problems & exercises

May 18th, 2009

Summary: Sunset Digital Books has just launched an eBook on pelvic floor problems in women. Worldwide, women worldwide, over 40 years of age are potentially damaging their pelvic floor region through inappropriate exercises and use of certain gymnasium equipment. With the correct advice on the right kind of exercise, these women can address their pelvic floor problems and exercise with confidence and control.

Brisbane, Australia. 18 May 2009. Experts Michelle Kenway (physiotherapist) and Professor Judith Goh (Uro-gynecologist) have teamed up to produce Inside Out, a comprehensive guide to pelvic floor problems & exercises that explains safe, effective exercise for good health, fitness and pelvic floor support.

Some exercises that are commonplace in gyms and exercise classes, including sit-ups, are contributing to distressing pelvic floor problems in women at risk—especially women over 40 years of age, after childbirth, in menopause, or following commonly performed surgical procedures such as hysterectomy and vaginal repair. Women in various at-risk groups are encouraged to exercise, but repeated inappropriate exercise and poor technique can cause catastrophic pelvic floor problems such as vaginal prolapse where, literally, their insides fall out. Similarly, incorrect exercise can result in bladder control problems. To rectify these issues, pelvic floor exercise is recommended, but many women are embarrassed by their condition and lose confidence in their ability to perform even the most fundamental exercises to maintain fitness and well-being.

Some ladies actually present to the gynecologist after joining the gymnasium because they find that they now leak urine with exercise or feel that there is a vaginal prolapse. Many of the exercises and gymnasium machines are designed for those without risk of pelvic floor problems,” Professor Judith Goh said.

As an essential guide for women at risk, Inside Out is an illustrated and professionally produced digital book (eBook) that provides females with:

  • essential everyday understanding of a woman’s pelvic floor anatomy

  • innovative and comprehensive exercise workouts with expert tips and safety guidelines

  • understanding of potentially unsafe, popular classes (yoga/pilates/circuit) and gym exercises

  • skills and understanding for effective abdominal and pelvic floor exercise

  • stories from women who have overcome pelvic floor problems.

Inside Out: the essential women’s guide to pelvic support is designed to be user-friendly and readily accessible. Priced at US$19.95, the eBook can be purchased online only at: http://www.sunset-digital-books.com/health-fitness/pelvic-floor/index.html

Following the advice in this eBook, at-risk women can address their pelvic floor problems and exercise with confidence and control. In some cases, the symptoms can even be reversed.

Dr. Paul Yanick Discusses The Importance of Synbiotic Nutrients

January 31st, 2009

Florida, USA. January 8th, 2009: Dr. Paul Yanick shed light on the nourishment value of the synbiotic nutrients that help curb numerous diseases in the human body.

Synbiotic nutrients are one of the major factors that strengthen probiotic commensal cells to fight against invading bacteria and pollutants. But almost ninety percent of the commensal probiotic cells die off in a cellucide process without symbiotic nourishment. The probiotic and synbiotic nutrient concepts have become the focus of intense scientific interest, with Robert G. Martindale, MD, PhD of the Medical College of Georgia stating, “The use of probiotics in the treatment of specific diseases has evolved into an extremely valuable option yet to be optimally used in clinical medicine.

In a published study entitled “Synbiotic Control of Inflammation and Infection in Transplantation,” Stig Bengmark, MD, PhD, Department of Hepatology and Surgery, University College of London (UCL) states that synbiotics “have proven effective to reduce inflammation and infection…and stimulate the innate immune system.”

Synbiotic nutrients are powerful because they are pre-digested by commensal cells and turned into amazing nourishing elements that you never find in your multiple vitamins. In fact, synbiotics are rarely found in probiotic supplements. But unfortunately, today, environmental factors (pollution, mold etc) and man-made chemicals and technological upgrades render most of the commensal cells sterile and ineffective.

Our culture has gone too far in its preventive war against germs. “There’s an invisible epidemic of cellucide” says Paul Yanick, PhD, the research director of the American Academy of Quantum Medicine. “Clearly, man-made chemicals and pharmaceuticals are killing off our commensal cells at alarming rates making us woefully deficient in synbiotic nutrition” Yanick says.

Yanick’s new e-book ‘Cellucide’ focuses on one of the greatest unknown questions about commensal cells: How do they make synbiotic nutrients needed to cleanse our body of unwanted inflammation and pollutants and keep us healthy? “We’re not getting what we used to [through diet], and we’re killing our innate commensal cells,” he said. “As a result, the balance of our commensal cell population has diminished, sometimes with disastrous effects on our immune system.”

Finding the probiotic-synbiotic supplement is difficult for average consumers, but hugely rewarding. In the 2006 Nature Medicine journal, researchers at the University of British Columbia found that the human-commensal cell teamwork make us a “super-organism with immense metabolic diversity and capacity.”

Research Shows That Belly Fat Causes Inflammatory Diseases and Can Be Fatal

January 31st, 2009

Florida, USA. January 28th, 2009: Dr. Paul Yanick and fellow researchers shed light on the negative effects of excessive belly fat.

Excess belly fat is the external sign of deep-rooted problems including the risk of heart disease, diabetes and even dementia or cancer. Belly fat produces renegade chemicals that cause disease-causing inflammation. “It seems to have a more negative outcome on health than overall fat,” stresses Richard N. Bergman, a professor at USC’s Keck School of Medicine. In a study presided over by Dr. Arya M. Sharma, Director of the Canadian Obesity Network, 27,000 people in 52 countries were surveyed, which concluded that heart attack sufferers had a much higher waist-to-hip ratio compared to those who hadn’t. This conclusion was further strengthened by the 2004 Lancet, where doctors concluded that the waistline measurement is a much more accurate predictor of heart attacks.

A new e-book book “Belly Fat Epidemic” by Dr Paul Yanick of the American Academy of Quantum Medicine carries a strong message for consumers against belly fat. He quips, “Predigested or symbiotic nourishment is the only way to stop piling up excessive belly-fat.” Fat cells attract xenoestrogens, becoming super resilient to diet changes and even fasting. Even consistent, moderate exercise is rendered useless.

Other studies have linked belly fat to metabolic syndrome – a grouping of risk factors, such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure that can precede diabetes and heart disease. A research study concluded that overweight, post-menopausal women, with the most abdominal fat were the most likely to suffer from metabolic syndrome, breast cancer, gallstones and even premature death. Also, a Kaiser Permanente 2004 study showed that people with the most belly fat were 145% more likely to develop dementia compared with people with the least amount of abdominal fat.

“Forget fad diets like low-carb (glycemic index), low-fat, liquid diets, the grapefruit diet, fat-flush plans, and starvation diets as they are harmless against fat-storing xenoestrogens,” says Dr. Yanick. Excess belly fat causes the immune system to fail, which accelerates the fat-storage process. These toxins take over our metabolism and natural ways to control our fat cells, which is the only way to get rid of inflammation and diseases.
