A new poll from a website specialising in creating bespoke photographic memorabilia has revealed the most iconic photographs of the past century, according to the British public. ‘Moon Landing’ clinched the top spot, closely followed by ‘V-J Day in Times Square.’

‘The Moon Landing’ photograph, a shot depicting astronaut Aldrin standing next to the US flag during the 1969 moon landing, has been voted by Brits as the ‘most iconic photograph of the past century’ in a new poll.

The poll was conducted by photographic memorabilia website www.MyMemory.com, as part of research into iconic images throughout the past century. 1,562 people took part in the poll, which aimed to discover which photographs had made the largest impression on Brits throughout the years, given the site’s focus on creating keepsakes from personal photographs.

Those taking part in the study were asked, “Which photographs do you consider to be the ‘most iconic’ of the past century?” Respondents were able to choose multiple answers, with the top ten results as follows.
