September 30th, 2011

In a bid to rapidly expand their operations, the Performance Label Company is in the process of shortly acquiring an advanced digital label press. This will allow the company to now print custom label quantities below 1,000 labels and provide next day service on super-rush orders without incurring additional plate charges.

This digital label press is poised to increase the scope of their services as it can die-cut labels of any shape without the need of a custom Flexo die that runs anywhere from $230 upward. The company is eagerly looking forward to add this service to their custom label production line.

The Navy Calendar

September 9th, 2010

WINDSOR, CT (august 18, 2010) ‑‑ The Navy 2011 calendar depicts 100 years of naval aviation as it pays tribute to the men and women who protect our nation, deter aggression, and maintain freedom of the seas. The calendar includes 24 detailed paintings, with each month featuring a major and a minor image. The just-released Navy calendar is published by Tide-mark Press.

The Navy commissioned its first planes in 1911. From open cockpit machines to fighter jets, aircraft have played an important role in the Navy’s work ever since. Sales of the calendar benefit the Naval Historical Foundation. Each month includes information about the painting and day-to-day factual briefs about naval conflicts and commissions. The paintings are drawn from the Navy’s official collection at the Naval History and Heritage Command.

January shows the NC-4 making the first crossing of the Atlantic by air in 1919. March brings another record-breaking flight, this time in 1934 when six P2Y-1 flying-boats flew nonstop from San Francisco to Pearl Harbor. In April a World War II rear gunner protects his SBD dive bomber.

December brings an MH-53E from Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 4 flying past USS Theodore Roosevelt. What military conflict does the artist depict? The caption explains. More wonderful paintings are featured throughout the year.

This beautifully designed publication is attractive and useful, with calendar grids that have large blocks for every day of the week. The monthly calendar also includes grids for the previous and forthcoming months, to make planning more convenient. The calendar opens to a generous 14 by 22 inches, nearly 10 percent larger than most other brands and includes major holidays and phases of the moon.

This and other nautical calendars can be purchased at www.tide-mark.com, through independent booksellers, or at Barnes & Noble, Borders, or Amazon.com.

Tide-mark Press publishes distinctive books, cards and calendars. Full-color calendar titles range from nautical, art, and landscape, to trains, planes, and gardening.

Creative Child Magazine Recognizes “We’re Three,” a Book from Trafford Publishing

August 18th, 2010

“We’re Three: A Story about Families and the Only Child” by Vivian Cameron-Gallo is a self published book that captures the essence of a family of three. This Trafford published book is the recipient of Creative Child Magazine’s 2010 Book of the Year Award for children’s interactive books. This comes after receiving last year’s Seal of Excellence Award for children’s picture books. We’re Three will be featured in Creative Child Magazine’s Holiday Issue.

Unlike other children’s books, “We’re Three” features interactive pages primarily designed to help the stereotypical “only child” out of their isolation. This self published book is an interactive story about the activities of a family of three.

Children will surely have fun reading the story and drawing pictures of their own families on dedicated pages. “We’re Three” is a must read, not only for families of three, but for families of all sizes.

About the Author

Vivian Cameron-Gallo is a freelance interior display designer. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology majoring in Display and Exhibit Design, she has more than two decades of design experience. Her concept is a Children’s Book that not only features stories; but allows children to journal their own family experiences.

About the Illustrator

All images are created by Christina Simcic. A dedicated and successful artist, Christina Simcic is constantly eager to learn new ways to express her artistic skills. Working on this book gave her the chance to express her inner child and do what children love most – play with color pens.

This modern-looking business card is the choice of entrepreneurs and artists alike for its eye-catching look.

Slim business cards allow customers to market their business in a unique way: Include information on one side with a photo on the other. Or for something completely different, try an attention-getting vertical layout rather than the traditional horizontal.

PsPrint business cards are available in three different types of paper stock, including high gloss and recycled matte. Custom options include rounded corners, foil stamping, folded cards, unique sizing and die-cut shapes, such as the new square option.

New Fall Letterpress Wedding Invitations Designs

May 18th, 2010

Santa Rosa, C.A.- Just in time for the fall wedding season, Invitations by Ajalon is proud to announce their introduction of three new letterpress wedding invitation designs. Known for their commitment to innovation, these new wedding invitations contain floral, Indian and classical themes.

Working over the past spring months to develop unique wedding invitation styles, Invitations by Ajalon has always served the artistic and design interests of their customers. These new fall letterpress wedding invitations are the most recent additions to a long line of gallery items that Invitations by Ajalon displays.

“We were trying to incorporate a different theme into each different letterpress wedding invitation,” notes Dean Tisthammer, Invitations by Ajalon’s lead design consultant. “We used a floral theme for one, an Indian pattern for another and classical motif for the third.

According to many professional wedding planners, fall wedding invitation trends include floral designs, multi-cultural patterns and classical styles. As part of their constant drive toward letterpress wedding invitation graphical design innovation, Invitations by Ajalon has worked tirelessly to offer what the modern bride is looking for.

Invitations by Ajalon is a letterpress invitation subsidiary of Ajalon Printing and Design and has been operating in northern California’s beautiful Sonoma County wine country for over 50 years. Printer Introduces Bilingual Letterpress Wedding Invitation Designs

May 18th, 2010

Santa Rosa, C.A.- Improving upon their already diverse letterpress wedding invitation collection, Invitations by Ajalon is proud to announce their introduction into the world of bilingual  wedding invitations. Servicing the needs of wedding parties with guests from diverse backgrounds, Invitations by Ajalon is one of the few letterpress printers creating bilingual invitation sets.

Invitations by Ajalon is at the forefront of custom wedding invitation designs. An expert in South Asian and Indian style wedding invitation sets, they have the ability to make any invitation bilingual. Using custom fonts, advanced graphic arts programs and photopolymer plates, Invitations by Ajalon individually translates each invitation set into the desired language.

“The reality is we no longer live in a society where everyone speaks, reads and understands the same language,” comments David Walrath, owner of Invitations by Ajalon. “A lot of the brides that we work with are requesting two sets of invitations, one in English and one in their native language. This way, the members of their family that cannot read English can still enjoy receiving and understanding their wedding invitation.”

Increases in American families with diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds make bilingual invitations and programs a fundamental part of many wedding ceremonies. For wedding guests to understand the directions, details and RSVP information, sometimes a bilingual invitation set is necessary.

Invitations by Ajalon is a letterpress wedding invitation subsidiary of Ajalon Printing and Design and has been operating in northern California’s beautiful Sonoma County wine country for over 50 years. They are featured on several different online publications and recently exhibited their work in the Dulhania Bazaar South Asian and Indian Wedding Expo in Phoenix.
