New Jersey Man Really Sells the Brooklyn Bridge … Again!

November 24th, 2008

Hope, NJ ( Prfriend ) November 22, 2008 -In 1983 New Jersey entrepreneur Paul Hartunian sold the world famous Brooklyn Bridge, one piece at a time. Now, 25 years later, he’s doing it again. But this time there’s something very special about the Brooklyn Bridge for sale.

When you think of great American monuments, a few standout landmarks readily spring to mind. The Statue Of Liberty, The White House, The Empire State Building as well as the Brooklyn Bridge to name a few. These landmarks and others like them are synonymous with American culture and etched on the psyche of every freedom loving American. It is not often that the opportunity to own your very own piece of one of these landmarks arises. However, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the first time he sold the Brooklyn Bridge, entrepreneur Paul Hartunian from http://www.IBoughtTheBrooklynBridge.com is releasing a signed limited edition of authentic Brooklyn Bridge wooden pieces along with full certification.

Paul Hartunian from www.IBoughtTheBrooklynBridge.com said “Imagine the privilege of being able to hold in your hands a piece of our heritage – a piece of Brooklyn Bridge history. A piece so exclusive that only a very select group of people would ever have the opportunity of seeing, let alone owning. A token of our glorious past that you can pass down to your children or grandchildren.”

When news of Paul’s Brooklyn Bridge sale originally hit news headlines back in 1983, the buzz surrounding the sale was tremendous. Johnny Carson even did a special segment about the Brooklyn Bridge for sale and mentioned Paul Hartunian and the other memorabilia he had for sale (You can view the Johnny Carson segment on Paul’s website: http://www.IBoughtTheBrooklynBridge.com). As a testament to how much people value these collector’s items, Paul has never seen one put up for sale since 1983 – not even on Ebay!

Paul adds “How many people can go through life saying that they did something truly special or unique in their lifetime? Owning a portion of the original Brooklyn Bridge will be that sort of highlight of your life. It’s a privilege that’ll bring smiles not only to your face, but to the face of your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.”

To mark the 25th anniversary of the first sale of the Brooklyn Bridge, Paul is releasing a limited edition collection of authentic Brooklyn Bridge wood pieces along with signed limited edition certificates. These collector’s items are not only scare and unique, but have significant historical value. Only 2500 of these special wood pieces with signed certificates are being released. So go to: http://www.IBoughtTheBrooklynBridge.com to find out more and claim yours now.

New Year’s Resolution: Have a healthy head and the rest will follow

December 18th, 2007

Big White Wall, the emotional health experts, explain why New Year’s resolutions of diets, detox and exercise won’t work unless you are emotionally healthy first

The online specialist for emotional health, Big White Wall, says that focusing on improving the health of your ‘head’ is more likely to bring longer lasting health benefits than ‘quick fix’ New Year’s resolutions which lead to faddy diets and short-term exercise programmes.

Every year many of us make the annual promise of perfection, but research has proven that nearly half of all New Year Resolutions fail by February.* Big White Wall Founder, Jenny Hyatt, comments:

We tend to enter the New Year with a lot of emotional baggage. Making New Year’s resolutions can give us a sense of control over what we did not do or should not have done in the previous year and yet they are often founded on negative emotions – poor self-image, guilt at seasonal indulgence, stress levels at work and fear of how others perceive us – rather than what we feel about ourselves. If we don’t deal with these root emotions then it is no wonder most of our “good intentions” fail.

To encourage people to be more ‘head-healthy’ in 2008, this coming January Big White Wall will launch its emotional detox diet on www.bigwhitewall.com. This will show how to carry forward what you felt good rather than bad about in 2007, how to deal with last year’s unfinished business, how to change emotionally unhealthy habits and lifestyles and how to embrace the value of head-healthy treats.

Users of Big White Wall are invited to add their thoughts and experiences on the site on how to enter the New Year with a healthy head. One Big White Wall member wrote, ‘My resolution is to take a picture every day so that at the end of the year I have an album of a year in my life. I think New Year’s Resolutions can sometimes be very negative which is why they are doomed to failure. I decided this year I wanted a positive, fun resolution.’

The message is simple – get your head in a healthy state and the rest will follow. Jenny Hyatt explains: ‘with the right mind set, anything is possible – anyone can make lasting and positive life changes so long as they have the full support of their emotions’.

Jenny Hyatt is available for interview

Note to editors:

Talking about sensitive or highly emotional issues often makes people feel vulnerable and unable to express themselves fully. On Big White Wall it’s so much easier as all members have complete control over their privacy and are anonymous; they can build open and honest identities online and express what’s on their mind.

The Wall offers members a variety of ways to express how they really feel. Using words, photos or drawing users create individual bricks to better describe their worries, concerns or secrets before adding them to The Wall. The bricks are a form of digital graffiti and become part of an infinite and permanent wall of human emotion.

The Brick Builder is simple and fun to use and with integrated tagging users can easily and quickly meet others from The Wall with similar interests, needs and knowledge. They can also explore their issues further by asking questions or sharing reflections and experiences in the dynamic and totally organic Talkabout section.

Big White Wall was launched in October 2007 and is currently in beta.

Big White Wall announces the launch of the Award for Psychological Insight

November 16th, 2007

In the last couple of years, social networks have taken the media industry by storm as millions of people worldwide connect to each other online. But where has this need to network come from? And why is it so addictive?
Big White Wall launches the Award for Psychological Insight, offering a cash prize of $2,000 to the individual who best explores the psychological mysteries of social networking, and captures their findings in an article.

Commenting on the Award, Professor James W. Pennebaker, Chair of Psychology, University of Texas and author of Opening Up: The Healing Power of Expressing Emotions said: “Very little is known about self-expression online. Big White Wall’s award is an excellent opportunity to explore internet-based social and emotional processes”.

How to take part:

The Big White Wall Award for Psychological Insight is open to anyone who works or studies in the arena of psychology, counselling, therapy or emotional health.
Entrants must submit a 1500 – 2000 word article entitled ‘The psychology of networking online and its impact on emotional health’. Using a selection of social networks as case studies, entrants are invited to explore some of the following questions from a user’s perspective:·

  • What motivates people to join social networks?
  • What underlies different levels and patterns of engagement with social networks?
  • What encourages repeat usage and loyalty to any one site?
  • What are the overall benefits and pitfalls of social networking from a psychological perspective?

The author of the winning article will receive a cash prize of £1000. Articles will be judged on an evaluation of each individual’s experiences alongside supporting research material and/or relevant psychological theory. The winning article will be published on www.bigwhitewall.com.
All entries must be submitted by midnight GMT on February 1st 2008. The winner will be announced on February 29th 2008.

Note to editors:

Big White Wall is the place for emotional health online (www.bigwhitewall.com). It is a support network where, anonymously, people can honestly express everyday worries and deeper concerns, talk these through openly with others and learn more about how to be emotionally healthy. Users can feel immediately better by expressing their thoughts and feelings on The Wall by adding a brick using the unique easy-to-use design tool. It is a form of digital graffiti which creates an infinite and permanent Wall of human emotion.

Big White Wall takes traditional offline networks and recreates them as a global online support network. For example, through Talkabout a dynamic community of users can talk about whatever is on their minds. The critical difference between Big White Wall and other networks such as Facebook and MySpace, is that all users on Big White Wall are anonymous. This allows everyone to be open and honest and to really share what’s going on for them. Big White Wall was launched in October 2007 and is currently in beta.
