The Chesapeake Boathouse is the first building on the banks of the Oklahoma River that flows through downtown Oklahoma City. The $3.5 million design conveys the image of a rowing shell. The Boathouse features polycarbonate translucent walls that glow at night. These combined with the sixteen light columns are designed to create the impression of a sailboat driven with oars floating on the river. Within the boathouse are boat bays, deck, lobby, two event rooms capable of hosting meetings and receptions, one of which features a 62-foot window offering panoramic views of the boat bays, a fully equipped fitness room, and last but by no means the least, the 24-foot glass wall offering unparalleled views of the reflecting pool, the Oklahoma River and the deck.
