SEO Lives On: Study Shows SEO Defies the Odds, Beating The Credit Crunch
December 4th, 2008Online Study Shows SEO Allows Businesses to Make More Sales, Despite the Economic Downfall
Birmingham, UK, December 4th 2008: An Internet survey conducted by the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers shows that online advertising and SEO has seen an 11% increase in revenue since last year. It seems that it is media (television and newspaper) advertising that is suffering much more than their Internet counterparts.
What businesses are assuming, however, is that there is no budget for extra marketing and due to the Credit Crunch, it’s unlikely to work anyway. Employees are being made redundant to cut costs and sale numbers are staying put. What companies such as Click Generation are trying to explain is how invaluable SEO is during the fall of the economy, because (as surveys such as those carried out by the IAB and PricewaterhouseCoopers show) it is almost immune and will actually generate new business.
“Any company would be mad not to turn their website into a marketing machine by getting it onto page 1 in Google” says Click Generation co-founder Chris Laing; “converting your increased web traffic into captured sales leads using SEO is at a fraction of the cost of making yet another redundancy”.
Launched by two UK entrepreneurs Chris Laing (SEO expert with a history of building web communities/businesses and domain portfolios for a global client base) and Robin Dudfield (serial entrepreneur who has created and operated numerous offline ventures), Click Generation is a very young company offering UK SEO, web design and Search Engine Marketing services to budding and existing businesses with websites that need to rank higher in the search engines.
As the global economic downturn has deeply negative implications for millions of businesses, home owners and several industries, the one that is seeing a benefit from the situation is online marketing. SEO expert Chris Laing and business co founder and serial entrepreneur Robin Dudfield have recently launched their company Click Generation to help businesses break into the gold mine that is SEO.
