The 2012 Kia Sorento has a new direct-injection, 2.4 liter, 4–cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower and an has EPA estimated 32 mpg highway in front-wheel form, besting the base engine’s fuel economy by one city, and three highway miles per gallon.

Other changes for the 2012 model include available power folding side mirrors, a new dual exhaust system with four-cylinder powertrains, an available backup warning and sonar, a new five-spoke hyper finish wheel design and an added stainless step pad for the SX model.

Inside the new Kia is a new cloth seat fabric material that reduces staining, static electricity, and is antibacterial. In addition to these mechanical upgrades, the 2012 Kia Sorento adds new convenience features including cooled and heated three-position seats, heated steering wheel with wood trim, and memory seat/power passenger seat.

One of the most exciting additions to the 2012 Sorento is the UVO powered by Microsoft which is a voice activated system. It offers cutting-edge technology that allows you to stay focused on the road while also enabling you to create a personalized driving experience. With UVO you can say a command to make a phone call or to stream music; the system will also store up to 700MB of music. It includes a 4.3 LCD touch screen with a rearview camera display.

The 2012 Sorento has some really great safety features that all come standard.  The safety features include dual front advanced air bags, side curtain airbags for the first and second rows, dual front seat-mounted side airbags for the first and second rows, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, Electronic Brake Distribution, Hill Assist Control, and downhill Brake control.
