Cash for candy

November 28th, 2009

Ft. Lauderdale, FL ( Prfriend ) November 28, 2009 – One area dentist is redefining the phrase “put your money where your mouth is.” This Halloween, trick-or-treaters can bring their excess candy to Ultimate Smile in Fort Lauderdale and receive $1 per pound. Dr. J. Heider is leading this anti-decay movement by giving away dollars and glowing electric toothbrushes in exchange for cavity-provoking candy.

“Ditch the candy, and support our troops, that’s what we’re saying. Visiting your dentist twice a year and brushing daily are great preventative measures, but doing away with excess sweets altogether would really give your teeth a healthy boost,” says Dr. Heider. “Kids can still have all of the fun of trick-or-treating, and now their piggy banks will benefit as well. Plus, these glowing brushes we’re giving out are really cool—they’re like light sabers for your mouth.” Global sugar consumption for kids increases by about 2% annually and currently sits at 50 million tons per year, which means parents need to be sure their kids teeth are being cared for more than ever. Candy, as well as hurting children’s teeth, can lead to hyperactivity and weight gain. In some cases, the wrong types of candy can also lead to broken teeth and damaged braces.

Candy will be collected at Ultimate Smile on Monday November 2nd from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. The candy must be unopened. Please no bites. It will then be shipped to troops overseas.

Dr. J. Heider’s office in Fort Lauderdale emphasizes general family dental care as well as cosmetic procedures. Dr. Heider is available to provide more information at 954-566-5428, or visit Ultimate Smile on-line at www.ultimateSMILEftl.com

Glasgow Dentist Solves Biggest Problem in Cosmetic Dentistry

April 7th, 2009

Glasgow, UK – Every cosmetic dentist spends time with a patient to design the perfect smile. However, a fundamental problem in cosmetic dentistry is that the dentist does not actually handcraft the patient’s porcelain veneers or crowns. That responsibility is handed over to a dental technician or ‘Ceramist’ who in most cases never meets the dentist or patient. The result can be less than perfect.

Dr Attiq Rahman said, “It is a prohibitively expensive exercise for dentists to set up and staff a state of the art dental laboratory for their own exclusive use, however I just couldn’t see a way to take my cosmetic dentistry to the ultimate level without taking this step. I decided to recruit Ian Smith who in my opinion is one of the very best ceramists in the country.”

Master Ceramist, Ian Smith, left a top post at a large commercial dental lab in Devon to join Dr Rahman and work full-time at the Visage Lifestyle Clinic in Glasgow, Scotland.

Ian said, “What we do at Visage is completely different and totally unique because I am present from the initial consultation to assist Dr Rahman on the Smile Design, right through to the final appointment when the patient walks out with their perfect smile. Quite often I will use my artist’s colour palette to add the final colour and natural characteristics to the crowns and veneers while they are being tried in the patient’s mouth. That way I can exactly match the natural teeth in a way that is impossible for any ceramist who cannot work the way we do at Visage. In fact I don’t know of any other clinic where a patient can get this level of commitment and expertise and I am thrilled to be part of it!”

There is no doubt that the results speak for themselves and the website www.visage-glasgow.co.uk has an entire section dedicated to the letters of thanks from Dr Rahman’s delighted patients. It would appear that cosmetic dentistry is adapting to the needs of an ever more sophisticated public who are prepared to research and seek out the very best. If Dr Rahman is correct then he may well be taking Glasgow cosmetic dentistry to a truly world-class level.

The Visage Lifestyle Clinic brings the very best of London Harley Street into the Merchant City in the centre of Glasgow, Scotland. They combine the latest in cosmetic dentistry, teeth whitening, dental implants, Botox ®, Restylane, Juvederm, Invisalign ® clear braces, cosmetic surgery, laser skin resurfacing, and laser hair removal.

Patent-pending Flosspop is now available to general consumers who seek fun oral-care products

January 19th, 2008

American Zeal National flagship product, Flosspop, is an after-a-meal toothpick, floss and a delicious sugar-free treat, rolled up all in one easy-to-use package for refreshing oral-feeling after a meal or a snack. Flosspop™ comes in a variety of flavors to create a incentive-centric positive-reinforcement for the user to increase the probability of repeated flossing and to create general habit of good oral-care. Flosspop™ has been designed to create a fun and exciting reinforcement so that the benefits of flossing are evident right away to the subject. As one pediatric dental professional put it, “In our office, we offer a lollipop to each child to make the whole experience a bit more pleasant. After all, oral-hygiene doesn’t need to be scary and uncomfortable…..Flosspop is perfect for our office since we have the best of both worlds. We can make the whole experience fun while point out the benefits of flossing. Our patients love it too – especially the parents.”

The positive-reinforcement has been designed with the benefit of the user in mind. Flosspop offers an array of flavors of cocoa which has been proven to be beneficial to oral-health of the users. “According to Tulane University doctoral candidate Arman Sadeghpour an extract of cocoa powder that occurs naturally in chocolates, teas, and other products might be an effective natural alternative to fluoride in toothpaste. In fact, his research revealed that the cocoa extract was even more effective than fluoride in fighting cavities. The extract, a white crystalline powder whose chemical makeup is similar to caffeine, helps harden teeth enamel, making users less susceptible to tooth decay. The cocoa extract could offer the first major innovation to commercial toothpaste since manufacturers began adding fluoride to toothpaste in 1914. ” (Tulane University Article ID 7364 May 16, 2007).

The innovative packaging has also contributed to success of Flosspop and its wide acceptance in the market. Flosspop has been used as promotional-items for dentists and oral-care industry for tradeshows, sports events, fundraising and general advertising. Advertisers can place their own logo, announcements, coupons or any advertising within packaging for distributions.

The restaurant-industry acceptance of Flosspop has not been surprising – as it is a very natural relationship between these two entities. Many restaurants already offer candy/mint, toothpick and entertainments to their patrons by the cash register. Flosspop has been a cost-saving solution since restaurants no longer need to purchase, and keep track of, toothpick mint or any other after-the-meal products to their customers. Further, Flosspop increases customer-satisfaction by offering something delicious after a perfect meal for better customer-service. Such increase in customer-satisfaction typically results in repeated business in future, in addition to increased gratuities to the food servers.

American Zeal National is dedicated to create and bring fun oral-health products to the consumers to promote better oral-health for everyone. Our goal is to build a bridge between the restaurant businesses and dental industries for the benefit of the consumer.
