UltraJoist, the super dry construction timber produced by Glenalmond Timber has had its superior spanning performance acknowledged by TRADA. The span tables produced for Glenalmond Timber by the industry research body clearly demonstrate that, for an equivalent cross sectional profile, UltraJoist will out-span an equivalent ibeam.

The tables, available from the website www.ultrajoist.com, were produced by TRADA to provide independently calculated figures for the innovative solid timber system. In some cases, for example, a 45 x 220 UltraJoist beam will outspan a 60 x 220 ibeam.

The span tables have vindicated all we have been saying about the performance of Ultrajoist and they enable specifiers to select the most appropriate size of timber.
