Think and Do differently

November 3rd, 2009

“As technologies converge, it is becoming increasingly challenging to develop a competitive advantage within the marketplace. Your creative team could be the catalyst for finding that unique advantage. Even more importantly creativity can be the key to unlocking consumers current savings splurge,” claims Kelly.

“Oftentimes people argue that creativity isn’t their thing – an argument that couldn’t be further from the truth when one reviews the studies in this area,” asserts Kelly. “Teresa Amabile of the Entrepreneurial Management Unit at Harvard Business School collected nearly 12,000 daily journal entries from 238 people working on creative projects in seven companies. Her findings confirmed that creativity was not just the domain of creative types; everyone can be creative. Another study of genius by George Land and Beth Jarmin found that 98% of 2 – 5 year olds could be considered creative geniuses! The bottom line is that the seeds of creativity are within us all and creativity is truly everybody’s responsibility. Organisations need to create a positive high trust culture in which these ideas can flow,” added Kelly.

Kevin Kelly, an Internationally Acclaimed motivational speaker suggests a few ways to tap into this creativity in his new book “Basics before Buzz.”

1. Ask your employees to contribute one idea a month to a nominated ‘Ideas Person.’

2. Have your own Rent-a-crowd session to generate new ideas for your business? This involves inviting a small group from diverse backgrounds from outside your business to come up with new ideas, potential improvements etc.

3. Ask online for help! In his experience, collaboration – not competition – is the guiding rule of the internet community.

Kelly’s new book “Basics before Buzz – managing in challenging times” has just been launched. The book is a follow on to his best selling publications “How? When you don’t know how” and “Life- a trip towards Trust.” Over the past two decades, he has been recruited as a motivational keynote speaker for events in the Far and Middle East, Europe and The US. Next year he is keynoting at the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table where he will address over 5000 delegates in Korea. This event will be followed by trips to Hong Kong, China, South America and the Middle East.

“Back to Basics,” directs Motivational Speaker

November 2nd, 2009

In his new book “Basics before Buzz – managing in Challenging times,” Internationally acclaimed Motivational Speaker Kevin Kelly claims that entrepreneurs should focus on the basic building blocks of their business if they want to transcend the current challenges in the marketplace.

The book, a follow on to his Best Selling Title “How? When you don’t know how” focuses on showing Business owners how to improve their bottom line
From three perspectives:

1. How to keep their customers and exceptionalise their service?
“Entrepreneurs need to exceptionalise their service and convert their customers into friends,” asserts Kelly. “Remember customers leave, friends don’t,” he claims.

2. How to get the best from their employees regardless of whether they have one or ten? This segment includes idea generation strategies critical to a firm’ survival.

3. How to tap into their innate potential – the key to unlocking the organisations future.

“Resilence, focus, creativity are the trademarks of entrepreneurs who walk the path of their potential,” claims Kelly.

Kelly’s usual cocktail of stories, studies and exercises are backed up with the latest research based on 30,000 employees from the Great Place to Work Institute Ireland.

Over the past two decades, Kevin Kelly has been recruited as a motivational keynote speaker for events in the Far and Middle East, Europe and The US. Next year he is keynoting at the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table where he will address over 5000 delegates in Korea. Exceptionalise your service, a call from Acclaimed Motivational Speaker Kevin Kelly

October 11th, 2009

Exceptionalise your service, that’s the call from Internationally Acclaimed Motivational Speaker and Best Selling Author Kevin Kelly.

Citing research from Columbia University which highlighted the fact that 88% of break through companies were the result of “exceptional execution of an ordinary idea” Kelly claimed it is now time for companies to exceptionalise their service.

“The facts are that in general, service levels have dipped in the past few years. Considering the current challenges in the marketplace, these standards are simply unacceptable,” Kelly said.

“Furthermore, we are operating in an attention deficit society, people are being inundated with different stimuli. One study by Yankleovich said the average city dweller is being hit with 3000 – 5000 messages a day. One study done by the University of California claim people are interrupted every three minutes five seconds. All in all it is very difficult to get your message across. To do so organisations need to think and do different – certainly one way is to exceptionalise their service,” he added.

So how does one do this?

“By breaking down your service into all the contact points with the customers, setting standards for each interaction and then actively working at exceeding these standards at all times. Companies need to create a compelling buying experience, this will start converting customers into friends. Remember customers leave, friends don’t. A new mindset is definitely required, how many organisations have thought of how they can get business for their customers for example. This is the new way of building real relationships with their clients.” added Kelly.

Kelly is due to launch his new book “Basics before Buzz – managing in challenging times” before Christmas. This event will be followed by trips to Hong Kong, China and the Middle East.
