OPEC Mop Oil Recovery Machines Clean Up Polluted Ground Water

September 19th, 2010

OPEC’s Mop Skimmers www.opec.co.uk are currently been used successfully to help clean up a large brownfield site in the UK to remove polluted hydrocarbons in the water table.

Traditionally boreholes are drilled and ground water is pumped and treated to remove hydrocarbons. By using the OPEC mop skimmers and ST5 gravity oily/water separators to transfer oils from the boreholes to 1000 IBC’s ready for collection. This is a big saving in man power and logistics of moving and treating polluted ground water in brownfield sites.

So far the machines are recovering more than 6000 litres per week of polluted hydrocarbons. In some cases the waste oils can be re-cycled and used for secondary fuel use in cement kilns and blast furnaces.

This is one of many successful applications of OPEC machinery used in this way to help clean up the environment.

About:-

Oil Pollution Environmental Control ltd is a UK based Company that was formed in 1980 to continue with the development and to capitalise on previous developments of specialist oil skimmer devices, namely mop skimmers which had been produced over the previous four years by the individuals who later became closely associated with the Company. The product range provides a very effective efficient system for controlling potential pollution by reducing.

Oil Gone Easy S-200 Products Used in Refinery Cleanup

January 20th, 2010

Oil Gone Easy S-200International Environmental Products (IEP) that provides eco-friendly solutions for a clean environment has announced that a major US refinery has chosen Oil Gone Easy S-200 products to cleanup 4 acres of their site. According to them, the intensive performance history of Oil Gone Easy S-200, right from the Prestige oil spill cleanup on the coast of Spain, has lead to its selection.

The task includes cleanup of oil spills, leaks, and a history of hydrocarbon issue throughout one section of the refinery. Approximately 30,000 sq meters of surface oil spills and leaks, including areas around tank farms, under pipelines, near loading racks, and on the shore riprap and dock areas were required to cleanup using Oil Gone Easy S-200.

The usage has proved that the application of this oil remover is an effortless process, wherein the solution needs only to be sprayed on the leaked or spilled hydrocarbon for the indigenous bacteria to degrade the hydrocarbon into carbon dioxide and water. The entire process does not involve any foreign bacteria and the concern of hazardous waste is eliminated. Another advantage of S-200 is that the bioremediation process is unspoilt by rain, wave action, or wind due to the solution’s adhering nature to the hydrocarbons.

Jim Lynn Talks about Oil Gone Easy Products on Meet the Planet

November 27th, 2009

Jim Lynn, the inventor of Oil Gone Easy products, appeared as a guest on Meet the Planet, an environmental multi-media show that strives to create awareness among people to come up with positive and educated solutions to deal with challenging situations in the world today.

On this show, Jim Lynn talks about the negative environmental impact caused by minor oil spills from cars and trucks. Every day, millions of engines make one-drop-at-a-time “oil spills” on the roads and parking lots, which end up in to our oceans and rivers when it rains.

He states that, of the 20 million gallons of petroleum that escape into the North American waters every year, 17 million are a result of land-based runoffs from vehicles, contamination by recreational boaters, and fuel dumping by commercial boaters. He also describes the harmful effects that these oil spills have on the marine life.

Ahead on the show, Jim Lynn explains how oil spill cleanup techniques, such as pressure washing, cleanup using dispersants and hot water, instead of cleaning up cause more harm to the environment.

He then talks about Oil Gone Easy products and the bioremediation technology used in these products. He explains how bioremediation technology, cleans an oil spill in an effective and environmentally-friendly way without causing any further damage.

He reveals that the industrial version of this bioremediation accelerator was tested by the Spanish government for more than nine months in their laboratories as well as on site with the Prestige Oil Spill that occurred on the coast of Spain. Of the 50 products tested, Oil Gone Easy was the only product selected for the continuing cleanup of the shoreline. The second generation of the product was also successfully used to cleanup 70 miles of the contaminated shore after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska.

Remove Truck Oil and Diesel Stains the Natural Way

October 1st, 2009

Oil Gone Easy S-200 was reviewed in the UTV Weekly, a widely read online magazine about UTVs or side-by-sides. It is an eco-friendly product that makes use of bioremediation technology to remove truck oil and diesel stains naturally.

Bioremediation works by degrading the harmful hydrocarbons present in oil using the micro-organisms present in the atmosphere. As it does not cause any harm to the environment, this technology is recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This technology is used in several oil spill sites during oil spill cleanup.

Oil Gone Easy S-200 that uses this technology has proved to be very effective in cleaning up oil spills. It has been used in oil spill cleanup procedures in several spills, including the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill in Alaska.

This oil stain remover can also be used to clean driveways, concrete, garages, soil, and gas-stations as well as oil stains from anywhere in the house. It works on any surface, including cement, concrete, and soil. It is available by the quart, 5-gallon buckets, and 55-gallon drums.

Using this oil stain remover is very simple, unlike other methods of oil spill cleanup. Oil spill cleanup using rags, sand, or kitty litter is not only tedious, but also does not produce the desired results. The harmful hydrocarbons present in the oil are also not completely eliminated.

Oil Gone Easy S-200, on the other hand, removes the stain efficiently as it makes use of special nutrients to attract bacteria, which break down the oil. Once this oil stain remover is poured on the stain it takes seven days to completely remove the stain.

This oil stain remover has other advantages too. It is waterproof and works no matter what the weather condition is. It is also non-flammable and also eliminates petrochemical odors.

Consumers looking for a good oil stain remover to cleanup truck oil and diesel stains safely and effectively, will find Oil Gone Easy S-200 useful.
