India’s largest unconference on Open Source – OSSCamp – is to be held during 5th and 6th September 2009 at NSIT, Delhi. This OSSCube sponsored and promoted event will see IT professionals, enthusiasts and students come together to discuss and shape the future of open source in India. This community driven unconference, popularly called the “Camp,” is targeted specifically at promoting FOSS implementation and development in India.

This year’s event includes discussions and talks from experts on topics ranging from Programming OpenOffice.org to Social Network (Open Source). A major highlight of the event is the session by Bryan House (Director, Marketing) from Acquia on “Acquia: Accelerating Drupal Growth” and the session by Adobe on their open source RIA Framework – Adobe Flex. Other major sponsor of the event includes Linux for you, Computer Society of India, Bigadda and NSIT.

Elaborating on the scope of the camp, Mr. Vineet Agrawal, Sr. Manager, Community and Alliances, OSSCube, said, “We have always believed in encouraging local communities and have helped them through promotion and participation. The Delhi event promises to be a fun-filled event with participations from across the nation. The community is very focussed with much emphasis on hands-on sessions, demos and social sandboxes.
