Fund raising with Adgiftdiscounts
February 22nd, 2010With so many worthy charity causes in the headlines at present it’s important that we all do our bit to help. Raising funds is the fundamental foundation stone which helps to pay for materials and initiatives. Many people think of fund raising as simply organising an event such as a concert or a sponsored activity. As successful as these are it’s important that they maximise their potential to raise funds and awareness. People visiting or taking part in an event will not only donate money and take part in sponsorship but they will also buy related products. This is of course if the products are useful, attractive and they know the profits are going to a charitable cause. This traditional buying and selling mechanism is often overlooked by fundraisers. It can be used for most areas from PTA’s at schools, women’s guilds, hospices, local football teams or sports clubs to fully fledged nationwide events.
So what are these products that can be bought and sold for profit, where can they be bought from, and who would probably buy them. These products fall into a category called promotional gifts. These can be sports bottles, drawstring bags, pens, umbrellas, ponchos, travel mugs, conference bags or folders including note pads and sticky notes. The thing that makes them desirable and collectable is that they are all printed with a logo or message. So, long after the event has gone, the message lives on with promotional products.
This is a great profit opportunity for charities. Because they are buying these items in bulk from specialist promotional gifts suppliers they are able to buy at wholesale prices and sell at an equivalent retail price and still make a good profit. Customers are more likely to buy these products if the price is comparable to those on the high street and of course the quality is the same. There are many promotional gifts companies around they all sell similar products all branded with your message or logo the main difference is the prices they charge. The more visible they are on the Internet usually means that they are paying for this position therefore the cost may be reflected in their prices.
So it pays to shop around. Another area which affects the prices is whether these companies have in house printing or buy their print in. If they have in-house printing they can offer keener prices as there is only one mark- up in the job. Where as if the print has been bought in, the printer will add their profit then the gift company will add theirs. This is how the majority or gift companies work. With a little deep searching I fell over a company called www.adgiftdiscounts.biz they offer in house printing and their prices seemed almost unbeatable. I was also very impressed with their advice and personal service. It was almost as if they were working for my charity. They obviously have a lot of experience in this area I can certainly recommend them.
