Orion Ornamental Iron Offers Great Choices in Finials & Rods

February 10th, 2009

Orion Ornamental Iron announces it now offers nearly 300 finials (160 iron finials, 20 glass finials, 27 Crystal Finials, 34 wood finials, and 53 resin finials) and more than 37 styles of drapery rods (12 iron rods, 19 decorative rods, and 6 Inlay rods). The California-based company celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.

“We feel that Orion offers one of the most beautiful as well as one of the largest varieties of finials and drapery rods in the window treatment hardware industry,” said Sunil Patel, CEO. “Our window treatment hardware has been created to give designers a wide selection of iron, resin, crystal, glass, and wood finials, and also of iron and wood drapery rods in an extensive variety of styles and finishes.”

Orion, which sells wood and iron drapery rods up to 30 feet in length, in traversing and non-traversing styles, makes all of them available as custom curtain rods or in standard lengths, in custom and standard finishes.   With the acquisition of KBlair Finials early in 2008, Orion added that company’s distinctive Inlay Rods, handcut Crystal Finials, and unique resin finials to its offerings.

“Our most recent introduction is our Designers’ Choice traversing hardware line,” added Patel.  This traversing line consists of heavy duty traversing hardware in both iron and wood.  It includes single and double traversing rods, all with track available in 4 designer finishes.  “And,” notes Patel, “all of these heavy duty traversing rods are available with and without rings – an industry first.”  The Iron Art drapery rods are available in 31 finishes and the Wood Art drapery hardware rods are available in 11 different finishes.

“We want Orion to be known as the company which offers the most unique and the widest selection of window treatment hardware in the design industry,” said Patel.  “Through the acquisition of KBlair Finials, we now offer that distinctive line of hand-cut crystal finials, which are available as crystal medallions, crystal drapery finials, and crystal stair newels.  One of the many reasons we acquired this outstanding company was because of its lovely hand-painted resin finials and its Inlay Rods, which are another first in the drapery rod industry.”

The Inlay Rods are available in 2.25” and 3.0” styles, in traversing and non-traversing, in 20 different finishes, and with and without rings.  Both crystal finials and resin finials can be used on these Inlay drapery rods.  KBlair celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.  The company is noted not only for its Inlay Rods, but also for its custom curtain rods, hand-painted resin finials and unique hand-cut crystal finials.  The crystal, which come in sizes ranging from a petite 3” in diameter to a truly remarkable 6.5” in diameter, was created to give the designer wide choices in window treatment hardware.

“Orion’s goal is to always be at the forefront in new designs and product offerings.  In this difficult economic time, we are reaching out to our interior designers to help them by offering an extensive line of finials in iron, crystal, wood and resin, together with iron and wood drapery rods.  We provide custom curtain rods and custom finials.  Our drapery rods make a designer’s life easier because they come up to 30 feet in length, in an extensive selection of hand-painted finishes, and in traversing and non-traversing styles and with heavy duty hardware,” added Patel.
Orion Ornamental Iron plans to showcase its beautiful line of drapery hardware at the upcoming Window Fashions Show, which will be in May in Atlanta, Georgia.

Orion Ornamental Iron Announces New Traversing Drapery Rods

December 1st, 2008

Orion Ornamental Iron, manufacturer of both iron and wood drapery rods, now offers traversing drapery hardware in both iron and wood.  These curtain rods are available with either resin finials or iron finials and come in 31 Iron Art finishes and 11 Wood Art finishes.

“We want to offer drapery rods which meet our customers’ needs,” said Sunil Patel, CEO of the drapery hardware company.  “Therefore, all of our traversing drapery hardware now automatically will come with heavy duty track.  It means that customers will no longer need to worry about their curtain rods, and whether or not their decorative drapery rods will hold the weight of their drapes, no matter how elaborate they may be.”

All Orion Ornamental Iron traversing drapery hardware is also now available either with or without rings.  This is an industry first since normally heavy duty drapery rods are available only without rings.

“Orion wants to be noted for the wide array of curtain rods we offer to our designer customers,” said Patel.  “So we are offering our drapery rods with iron finials and resin finials.  We also offer glass finials in our Provence Collection, crystal finials in our Bohemia Collection, resin finials in our Rosina Collection, and wood finials in our New York Wood Collection.  These decorative finials are available on wood drapery rods and iron drapery rods in a variety of sizes and colors.  And, of course, we are always happy to do custom drapery hardware work whenever it is requested.”

Orion Ornamental Iron recently celebrated its 25th year in business by acquiring KBlair Finials, a 15 year old custom drapery hardware line which is noted for its crystal finials and wood resin finials.  “We feel that KBlair is a wonderful complement to the drapery hardware products which comprise the Orion line.  The KBlair line offers decorative finials, decorative rods—including the beautiful Inlay Rods, and is well known for its diverse selection of resin finials and crystal finials.”

Orion plans to expand the heavy duty traversing rods to the KBlair line in the near future.  This means that decorative drapery hardware, including regular heavy duty traversing rods as well as KBlair’s Inlay Rods, will be offered in a extensive array of finishes and styles, all under the Orion name.

“As we move into our 26th year,” said Patel, “we plan to increase our offerings of glass finials, crystal finials, wood finials, resin finials, as well as different styles of decorative drapery hardware rods.  We want to be known as the company who offers the most variety in decorative hardware.  It is our goal to match that variety with high quality finials and rods, outstanding customer service, and innovative decorative drapery hardware products.”
