Internet Start up Launches the World’s First Intelligent Microblogging Platform for Enterprises

September 17th, 2009

San Diego, Calif.

September 17, 2009 – Akibot was officially launched here today as the world’s first artificial intelligence-driven micro blogging application developed exclusively for use on a company’s Intranet.

The application, which integrates  with the Google Apps suite (and soon with other groupware applications), does not simply forward micro messages to members within the enterprise but also comprehends their meaning to the greatest extent possible and  feeds the processed data to the corresponding groupware application. Hosted on the Google App Engine cloud and developed as an artificial-intelligence driven independent application, Akibot uses a complex set of heuristics from Natural Language Processing (NLP) to parse each micro message independently to determine the line of action to pursue. Lines of action include scheduling, time tracking, customer relationship management, knowledge base and information search.

Real Time Communication Scenario

If a company employee posts a Twitter-like 140-character micro message either to a colleague or to an entire workgroup using Akibot that says, “I will have a meeting next Monday morning at Global International Bank regarding a new line of credit for our company,” in addition to communicating this schedule adjustment to other associates, Akibot will not only store the data regarding the appointment into the group calendar, it will automatically transmit a reminder a few hours prior to the scheduled meeting. This action, on the part of Akibot, is intuitive and can be further adjusted to suit the employee’s convenience. The microblog message can be routed to a cell phone, an e-mail inbox, or both simultaneously for immediate action.

The First Semantic Actionable Microblogging Platform for the Enterprise

“Akibot combines the power of microblogging and the innate functionality of Natural Language Processing to help  an organization be more productive, more agile and intelligent,” remarked Marcelo Pham, Head of the Akibot Development Team, who was inspired to envision the unique application for enterprises after having been introduced to Twitter recently by a client company. “I liked Twitter’s concept. However, I did not see any use for myself because I’m kind of a private person.

Twitter is for the masses, perhaps for celebrities to be in contact with their fans. However, the micromessage concept forces you to be brief and encourages you to be frequent. Coupled with artificial intelligence, I saw a use for corporate applications,” Pham added.

Serious No-nonsense Applications for Business and Industry

Maneesh Madambath, owner of Watblog.com, one of Internet’s most popular and heavily visited technology blogs, believes that Akibot is destined to have far-reaching implications in the future once it is noticed by the powers: “The use it presents for businesses is immense in my opinion. It is a Twitter that makes sense and makes tweets more valuable so to say. Everyday, I share

dozens of links with my team mates through Twitter DMs, through email, Facebook, Posterous and on chat. And this isn’t pointless sharing, most of it is critical stuff for my business. Akibot not only makes this as easy as a tweet but also stores and then (behold) retrieves it for not only me but for my entire team. Imagine the use it will present for human resource training, process development, customer relationship management, project management and timeline management. I can personally see a lot of benefits here and I don’t see why others won’t.”

Joe Youngblood, CEO of Gamerstube.com, says, “as a company with a distributed telecommuting staff, maintaining an understanding of labor hours used on software and infrastructure development projects is essential to our success. We have found that Akibot is the perfect intercommunication tool to use for keeping track of project labor hours and for communicating urgent needs between our I.T. and development staff.”

Special Limited Time Invitation

The company is currently offering free access to the application in its early beta testing stage through invitation. The first 100 visitors can use the invitation code PR100 to receive free access to the application for a limited time period.
