The New Dimension for Aquaculture in Vietnam

ILDEX Vietnam Aquaculture Conference 2010 to discuss a new dimension for aquaculture in Vietnam as Vietnam needs to move quickly toward sustainable aquaculture before it is too late. The aquaculture industry forum will take place on March 25, 2010, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Vietnam’s aquaculture industry is one of the largest and most rapidly growing aquaculture industries in the world. The country exports billions of dollars of aquatic products annually; especially pangasius and shrimp. The industry is, however, facing critical challenges to its leading status in the world market. The Vietnamese aquaculture industry, therefore, urgently needs to enhance itself. One way to do this is to promote permanent sustainability; another is to ensure food safety and thereby maintain customer trust.

ILDEX Vietnam Aquaculture Conference 2010 is a forum where leading aquaculture experts from around the region share views and visions on global aquaculture practices and trends. Pearls of wisdom from the experts should form the basis of a plan to enable the Vietnamese aquaculture industry to continue to thrive. Indeed, the ILDEX conference will prove a superb way for the Indochina’s aquaculture industry to discover slightly new goals and practices.

ILDEX Vietnam Aquaculture Conference 2010 will focus on three major issues: sustainability and certification; innovations in culture technology; and feed management & development.

“We believe that a one-day conference offers a great starting point for the industry to learn more about critical factors and technical issues that must be understood and challenged head on. With luck, this should eventually translate into securing a brighter future for the entire industry,” said Mr. Sirapat Kettarn, Managing Director, SPOTMARK, the conference secretariat.

“Better still, ILDEX Aquaculture Conference 2010 will be co-located with ILDEX Vietnam 2010. Participation in this virtually must-attend educational and networking forum means attendees can discover aquaculture technology and business solutions for their own operations.”

ILDEX Vietnam 2010 is Vietnam’s leading International Livestock, Dairy, Meat processing and Aquaculture Exhibition. The show is organized by N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd. (NEO) and takes place between the 25th to 27th of March 2010 at The New Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Phu My Hung, HCMC in Vietnam. Usually famed for its strong (land) animal emphasis, the show is now expanding to highlight aquaculture. The aim is to offer total solutions for Vietnam’s entire food chain by capitalizing on NEO’s strong international network plus its partnership with VNU Exhibition Europe.

“Together with VNU Exhibition Europe, we can bring in international technology to satisfy local needs ranging from livestock,  to dairy, to meat-processing and finally to aquaculture,” said Ms. Ladda Mongkolchaivivat, general manager, N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd.

Ms. Mongkolchaivivat added that “the ILDEX Vietnam Aquaculture Conference 2010 program has been carefully designed to ensure long-term benefits for the industry as a whole. And though the program is designed to garner mostly international perspectives, numerous local concerns are to be looked into and discussed for local benefit. Many thanks to our local partner Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertising Services (VEAS), the Department of Livestock Production, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (MARD) for their cooperation and support.”

Lotussia Travel Launches a New Trekking Tour to Sapa, Vietnam

April 13th, 2009

Sapa is a small town that has been a gathering spot for many local hill tribes for nearly 200 years. Hmong and Dzao people, among others, still come here to conduct trade, socialize. Sapa, with its mercifully cool climate, became a holiday escape for French colonists, complete with rail connection, upscale hotels, and a tourist bureau as early as 1917. The outpost was retaken by the Vietnamese in 1950, attacked and destroyed later by the French, and left in ruin, only brief occupied by Chinese troops in 1979. The town reopened for tourism in the 1990s.

This five day trek will offer you a real experience of the mountainous town of Sapa. You will spend some days trekking to visit some minority villages including H’mong, Red Dzao, Tay and Giay people. The trip will take you through many nice scenery, isolated ethnic village, rain forests and flowers fields. Have stops in route to meet local people, talk with them and you will understand more their way of life, their culture, customs. Sample also some homemade specialties such as sticky rice wine, fresh green tea. You will also explore the most colorfull market in the area, Bac Ha market which is open on Sunday morning only.
