San Francisco, CA, November 19, 2009 — VirtoSoftware announces a new version of Virto SharePoint Workflow Kit — no-code set of SharePoint activities for creating custom workflow in SharePoint Designer or Visual Studio. The Workflow Kit is extended with a wide range of new site management and SMS sending activities.
In spite of the fact that Microsoft SharePoint 2007 allows for customizing business processes with more than 30 standard activity blocks, the standard set of activities is not sometimes sufficient for organizing specific business processes. With its new add-on for Microsoft SharePoint, Virto SharePoint Workflow, Virtosoftware expands the range of the standard SharePoint activities, providing wider opportunities for creating custom activity sets, and thus, more flexible customization of business processes. The Workflow Kit is a set of no-code and ready-to-use activity blocks that you can easily add to SharePoint Designer or Visual Studio and build your own workflow within a minute.
The new version includes a number of site management activities that were not available for Virto SharePoint Workflow Kit users before:
— “Create SharePoint site”;
— “Delete SharePoint site”;
— “Rename SharePoint site”.
Another set of new activities allows including SharePoint group actions in workflow schemes:
— “Create SharePoint group”;
— “Delete SharePoint group”;
— “Add user to SharePoint group”;
— “Remove user from SharePoint group”.
Finally, the new version of the Virto Workflow Kit allows for sending SMS via Office Mobile Service (OMS). This open protocol in supported by Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and enables clients to send text and multimedia messages (mobile messages) remotely to the server which processes these messages and delivers them to mobile phones. Anyway, ‘sending sms over OMS’ is still not available as a default workflow activity in Microsoft SharePoint 2010, but you can enjoy it by using Virto Workflow Activities Kit.
