Tosin -

Congratulations on making everything happen and being in a position to start trading. Planning everything out and having the courage to make the first move can sometimes be the hardest part! Periods of slow down or recession can be the best possible time to lay the foundation of a new business. And when times improve, and they will eventually, you will be ready to benefit. Whatever happens, always believe in yourself and in your eventual success.

None of our products are aimed at any one market. As I say in 'Newspapers are History', publicity is no longer provincial. My advice is as relevant in Seattle, Cairo, Helsinki or Beijing!'

I am about to start trading so I don't have a website at the moment but I was wondering whether this calendar is applicable to the UK market. I am interested in quite a few of your products but the fact that I have to pay in US dollars makes me think that this is more tailored for the US market as opposed to the UK market.

Relax. Believe in yourself. Draw on your own experiences and trust your instincts. Always try to make what you are and how you present yourself one and the same thing. This is not about spin. It is about honesty, sincerity and believing in what you do. If organizations have this, they don't need PR!

Thank you for your comments and useful advice, Rosalie. We have tidied up the structure in the way that you advise but the layout is still chronological and month by month at the moment.

I was stuck in a publicity rut until I found your "The Publicity Calendar" on the internet. I have what I believe are great products, but I didn't know how to best get our company's name out. No wonder I was having so much difficulty. There was a marketplace out there that I had yet to tap.

Armed with my day to day calendar, I only took advantage of well-known holidays such as Valentine's Day, Christmas, etc. I literally was unaware of the potential in including the global marketplace. "The Publicity Calendar - Your Year Round Publicity Machine" equipped me with the knowledge that existed beyond my little world.

Its month by month global listings of sports, religious and cultural events open the door to many publicity opportunities. There are observances that I had never heard of that can widen the scope of my product promotion.

The monthly story hints and tips that are also provided for each month make for a year round publicity campaign for my company. Reading this 'calendar' has changed the way I look at promotion and not a month goes by that I do not use some part of the information contained.

Also, your tips on how to start publicity campaigns in a timely fashion are very helpful. Now, I always try to get my story out at the best time. I also never realized how important it was for me to obtain media kits which I thought were only used by advertisers.

The only thing that would make your product better, in my opinion, would to be to supply an actual calendar at the end with individaul events recorded. While it was relatively easy to find the events for each month in the table of contents, seeing it on an actual calendar as well would make it even easier. I understand that there are a lot of events so perhaps a few could be highlighted. I would have liked a listing of celebrated weeks/months throughout the year. Even though they were listed within each month, a list would make it easier for an entrepreneur such as myself to see how I could correlate the information to my business.

All in all, I think very highly of your product and look foward to using some of your other products. Thanks for the wealth of information you have provided me and my company.
